2024 Australian Kendo Championships – QLD results!

The 46th Australian Kendo Championships was held in Sydney over the Easter weekend and Queensland entered a strong team across many events. The results of the dedicated coaching team, numerous squad training sessions, team activities and the new QKR team jackets helped contribute to the most successful results Queensland has seen. Results speak for themselves:

– Women’s Open Teams – 1st Place!
– Veterans Individuals – Tomo Kawami 2nd Place!
– Women’s Kyu Teams – 3rd Place.
– Men’s Kyu Teams – 3rd Place.
– Men’s Dan Team – 3rd Place.
– Kata Competition – Tomo Kawami and David Fitzgibbon – 3rd Place.
– Kyu Women’s Individuals – Mio Tardy 3rd Place.
– Kyu Women’s Fighting Spirit Award – Mio Tardy.
– Dan Women’s Fighting Spirit Award – Saeko Yoshida.

This is the very fist time Qld has won the Top-level Women’s Team Competition! And they had a tough draw – win against NSW and Victoria was required to win first place.
Congratulations QLD Kendo Team!
