2025 Queensland Kendo Renmei Winter Dan Grading 6 July

Queensland Kendo Renmei invites you to the Queensland Kendo Winter State Dan Grading Examination on the Gold Coast. All current AKR members (and FIK affiliate members) are welcome!

Date: Sunday 6th July 2025

Location: Gold Coast Recreation Precinct (cheap accommodation, lunchbox on registration or café are available onsite). Also known as Tallebudgera Sport and Recreation Centre.

The grading Examination will be held on Sunday afternoon July 6 from 1:00pm. Please arrive by 12:30pm for the on-the-day grading registration

To be eligible you must meet the time-in-grade and minimum qualifications for the grade you are attempting.

We are planning to hold grading examination as per the below:

• Kendo from Kendo 3 Kyu to Yondan
• Iaido from 3 Kyu to Yondan
• Jodo – No grading due to lack of panel members.

Schedule:

• 12:30pm Grading registration
• 1:00pm Panel briefings
• 1:15 Iaido, followed by Kendo Grading Examination

Closing date for receiving grading applications is the 22 June 2025.

To apply for grading examination follow these 2 steps:

1.  Submit your signed Grading Application Form (found here: akr_grading_applcation_form) to Grading@qkr.asn.au by 5pm 22 June 2025 to be eligible to be examined. No late submissions will be accepted.

2. Pay your grading fees via https://events.humanitix.com/2025-queensland-kendo-winter-grading-examination-registration-and-payment by 5pm 22 June 2025.
