Queensland Kendo Championships 2025
QUEENSLAND KENDO CHAMPIONSHIPS 2025
Queensland Kendo Renmei is proud to host the 2025 Queensland Kendo Championships on Saturday 23 August 2025.
The Championships are open to all current QKR members.
Date: Saturday 23rd August 2025.
Event Venue:Somerville House Aquatic Centre, 4 Stephens Rd South Brisbane. (1 min walk from Southbank Train Station). Parking available under centre.
Events to be contested:
- Men’s Kyu Individuals.
- Women’s Kyu Individuals.
- Men’s Dan Individuals (Shigeoka Memorial Cup event).
- Women’s Dan Individuals (Shigeoka Memorial Cup event).
- Junior mixed individuals.
- Clubs Teams event.
NOTE: The schedule and events being offered are subject to change depending on registrations.
We are also looking for volunteers to assist with Shinpan (refereeing) and Kakari-in (court assistants).
Proposed Schedule:
- 7:00 – Venue open and set up.
- 7:30 – Registrations and shinai checks.
- 8:15 – Opening ceremony.
- 8:30 – Shinpan briefing.
- 8.45 – Junior mixed Individuals.
- 9.15 – Men’s Kyu Individuals.
- 9.45 – Women’s Kyu Individuals.
- 10.15 – Women’s Dan Individuals (Shigeoka Memorial Cup Event).
- 11.15 – Men’s Dan Individuals (Shigeoka Memorial Cup Event).
- 12:15 – Lunch.
- 13:15 – Clubs Open Team Competition.
- 16:00 – Closing ceremony, pack up.
You must be a current QKR member to compete or volunteer.
Cost: Competitors $35, Lunch $12
Lunches:
Optional lunches available – ham and chicken brugers and sport drinks. If you have special dietary needs, please talk to the organisers.
