The Queensland Kendo Renmei was proud to host the 2025 Queensland Kendo Championships (QKC’s) on Saturday 23rd August 2025.
The Championships open to all current QKR members – Juniors, Kyu and Dan was held at the Somerville House Aquatic Centre, 4 Stephens Rd, South Brisbane.
Events contested:
- Men’s Kyu Individuals.
- Women’s Kyu Individuals.
- Men’s Dan Individuals (Shigeoka Memorial Cup event).
- Women’s Dan Individuals (Shigeoka Memorial Cup event).
- Junior mixed individuals.
- Clubs Teams event.
RESULTS:
- Men’s Kyu Individuals: 1st place: Adam Huang, 2nd Place: Seunghoon Han, 3rd Place: Dimitri Kulin
- Women’s Open Individuals: 1st Place: Tomoe Kawami, 2nd Place: Kaori Langley, 3rd Place: Akari Okada
- Men’s Dan Individuals: 1st Place: Juwon Moon, 2nd Place: Suguru Masuo, 3rd Place: Yuki Tamura
- Team’s club Competition: 1st Place: QUT, 2nd Place: Shubukai, 3rd Place: Kenyukai
- Kirikaeshi Competition: 1st Place: Shubukai, 2nd Place: Kenyukai, Equal 3rd Place: Kenshinkai, QUT
- Fighting Spirit awards: Women: Laura Gray, Kyu Men: David Huyn, Dan Men: Kevin Wang
